Shalom: A Covenant of Wholeness

We call Jesus the “Prince of Peace,” especially at Christmas. But the Book of Revelation presents us with a radically different image; a Warrior-King. How do we reconcile these two apparently contradictory images? The answer isn’t about choosing between these images. It’s about understanding what the Hebrew word for peace; שָׁלוֹם (shalom), actually means.
